Vertical Green Walls for Urban Water Resilience: Lessons from vertECOยฎ and GRETAโข Pilots in Austria and Spain

This oral presentation shares monitoring results from two building-integrated vertical NbS systems developed under the now-completed HOUSEFUL Project EU project: the vertECOยฎ vertical constructed wetland at the Cambium eco-community in Austria, and the GRETAโข modular green wall at a social housing pilot in Barcelona. Both demonstrated strong water treatment performance and resilience in real-world conditions.
These experiences are now being taken further in the ongoing ATRIUM Project EU project, where a GRETAโข green wall is being installed at the Gugumuck Market Garden Bistro in Vienna for kitchen greywater treatment and subsequent reuse in toilet flushing.
