Optimal use of vertical space
Greening requirements are spreading through European planning systems and EU Taxonomy alignment, EPBD performance obligations and certification targets are pushing in the same direction. Most of the façade greening installed is decorative – it satisfies the greening requirements, while accruing maintenance costs for the rest of the building’s life.
GRETA uses the same area to remove a service load from the building. The panels are the treatment system. There is no chemical dosing, no membrane replacement and no sludge to dispose of.
How it works
Greywater is collected and distributed to the top of the panel array. It passes down through the planted growing medium, where microbial communities in the root zone break down organic load, nutrients, and pathogens. Treated water is collected and returned to the building for on-site service water reuses, such as irrigation of adjacent gardens.

Comparing GRETA to a conventional green façade
A conventional green façade is a maintained cost for the life of the building. GRETA carries the same planning and certification benefit and removes a service load in exchange for the premium.
