A capacity building stakeholder workshop held in April 2026 in Bischofshofen (Pongau region, Austria), was held as part of the FUTURAL Project and raised the question of how rural areas can turn local waste into technical innovation. Guided by Antonia Zerobin and Max Lรคuger, Project Managers at alchemia-nova, and in collaboration with Regionalverband Pongau, the workshop explored how Smart Solutions in the Circular Bioeconomy can unlock new value from local waste, boosting regional self-sufficiency and resilient value chains.
To kick things off, Harald Karl Winkler provided expert insights on the technological and regulatory aspects of ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ ๐๐น๐๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป. Building on this input, and supported by a series of illustrative sankey-diagrams from the previously conducted ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ณ๐น๐ผ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐, participants collectively evaluated different regional scenarios using a ๐บ๐๐น๐๐ถโ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐น developed by alchemia-nova, complemented by engaging group discussions.
