As part of the FUTURAL Project, our Circular Bioeconomy Team developed the scientific content for a new web-based platform that makes circular bioeconomy solutions accessible and applicable for the Pongau region (Austria).
The Circular Bioeconomy Smart Solution Platform brings together three thematic areas developed by our team:
– Resource flow analysis – a combination of analytical and participatory methods (such as Material Flow Analysis and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis) for analyzing possible utilization pathways for sewage sludge in the Pongau region.
- Vacancy reactivation – a “how-to”-guide to the repurposing of vacant buildings in line with circular economy principles, along with fact sheets on practical implemented examples.
- Circular economy best practices – a collection of fact sheets showcasing transferable circular bioeconomy solutions from rural contexts.
The aim is to provide municipalities, planners, and other regional stakeholders with a sound basis for decision-making, enabling greater resource efficiency, less waste, and a holistic contribution to regional development.
