Project summary
As part of this project, metal-accumulating plants were cultivated on waste incineration slag, and the metal uptake in various plants and plant parts was analysed. These experiments were conducted in a laboratory for two years following two years outdoors at the Rautenweg landfill, gaining application-oriented insights for implementing the concept of metal recovery using hyperaccumulating plants. A bio-ore was extracted from the biomass itself using five different refining methods.
Within this project, a dissertation and two master’s theses were completed in cooperation with BOKU.
